A Sizzling Summer by The Bay - Part Six

Need To Catch Up...

A Sizzling Summer by The Bay - Part Six

August 2012 – Los Angeles, California

Estelle’s coworker Daniella slipped the little envelope onto her desk and waggled her eyebrows conspiratorially. She put a finger to her lips and made the ‘shhh’ noise as if this tiny pink envelope were a dirty little secret, then hurried back to her desk.

When Estelle opened the envelope, she understood why her friend was acting like a spy on a mission.

The invitation read in big, bold letters.

GIRLS ONLY!

You are invited to a Kinky Pink Pleasure Party

Saturday, August 11, 2012 – 6 p.m.

Bring cash, and leave your inhibitions behind.

Estelle bust up laughing. She stood up and went to Daniella’s desk. “What is this? It sounds like your having an orgy party?”

Daniella nearly choked on her coffee, spitting it out in a spray. “Shhhh! It’s not an orgy, but I could get in trouble inviting you. Ya know, NSFW!”

Estelle rolled her eyes. “So, what is this all about, if it’s not an orgy?”

“Haven’t you ever been to like an Avon or Tupperware party?”

Estelle shook her head no.

“Pampered Chef? Something like that?” she huffed with exasperation.

“Yeah, okay. My mom used to go to those ones all the time.”

“Well, this is like that, but with,” Daniella lowered her voice considerably, “ya know, sex toys. And mostly the kind for women.” She held up her finger and waved it in a naughty gesture, and made a buzzing sound like a vibrator.”

Estelle laughed again. “So, no bringing Dayton then,” she teased.

“No, but if you want to bring another girlfriend – ya know how these parties go – the more my guests buy, the more hostess perks I get. I wanna get a whole bunch of goodies for my honeymoon!”

Estelle shook her head and chuckled. “You could just have a wedding registry with Kinky Pink Pleasure Parties.”

“Oh, yes, absolutely a wonderful idea. ‘Grammy, can you make sure you get me that big black dildo for my wedding night. Just in case you know, Brian’s isn’t enough.’”

Estelle was laughing so hard her side was splitting. “Okay, okay, point taken. I’ll be there. Dayton and I didn’t have any plans, so he should be fine entertaining himself for one night.”

“Good, and take an Uber. You’re gonna want to drink,” Daniella called after her as she walked away from her desk.

Saturday arrived, and Daniella’s apartment had been transformed into a veritable temple of sex, paying homage to the male penis. There were penis bunting banners strung across the walls amidst balloon bouquets. A table with little penis confetti strewn around the refreshments, which included penis pops standing erect in little pink cupcakes, an entire pink Jello molded like a penis, and edible penis jewelry.

When she walked in, Daniella and her other friends swarmed around her and adorned her with a paper penis tiara and a necklace strung with edible Pez like penis candies.

“So where’s the V-jay-jay candies for those of us who like hot dog and bun?” Estelle couldn’t restrain her snarky comment.

The girls giggled nervously. Estelle hadn’t really ‘come out,’ but she made comments to insinuate that her preferences weren’t just batting for one team.

“Okay, now that you’re here, you need a number.” Daniella pinned a piece of paper to her shirt. “It’s for a game later. No peeking at your number, because we’ll know.”

“Yes, mom,” Estelle said.

The evening progressed with many margaritas and daiquiris, and the laughing women became more and more raucous.

Then there was a reading from ‘50 Shades of Grey.’

Estelle was particularly curious. The book had just come out, and seeing as she was a big reader, had been meaning to get around to buying it.

The party hostess began to read a passage: “I pull him deeper into my mouth so I can feel him at the back of my throat and then to the front again. My tongue swirls around the end. He’s my very own Christian Grey-flavored popsicle. I suck harder and harder … Hmm … My inner goddess is doing the merengue with some salsa moves…”

During the reading, she had a hard time stifling her laughter. Her friends seemed to think this was pretty edgy. She realized afterward, she’d dodged a bullet on buying that one. Although she kept her inner commentary to herself, as her friends were all oohs and ahhs over what Estelle felt was terrible erotica. She’d read more arousing content by small press indie-authors. Hey, to each their own. If it got them all riled up, who was she to judge?

Then there was a demonstration of the various toys. Even though Estelle took a hard pass on the ‘50 Shades Book,’ her interest was piqued by the line of BDSM toys Kinky Pink had produced based on Christian Grey’s infamous Red Room. She handled the crop, and the satin mask, and thought, ‘This could be fun.’

Her 4th anniversary with Dayton was coming up soon. It had been a while since they’d had truly titillating sex. So on a whim, she bought the ‘Red Room Deluxe Package,’ which included the crop, a mask, a feather tickler, handcuffs, a bottle of lube, and a spanking paddle. She also purchased the ‘Rabbit 2000.’ One could never have too many ‘Battery Operated Boyfriends,’ just in case your actual boyfriend wasn’t in the mood.

Daniella was ecstatic over Estelle’s purchases. Being the most expensive one at the party, it pushed her points into the five hundred zone, allowing Daniella to get her own ‘Red Room Deluxe Package,’ as well as some pieces of lingerie.

The toys would ship out after the party planner put in the order, and they’d arrive in discreet packages straight to their homes, within 7-10 days. Perfect! Her and Dayton’s anniversary was two weeks away.

Estelle and Dayton had a wonderful dinner at their favorite little Italian bistro downtown. They dressed up a bit. Dayton gave Estelle her anniversary gift at the restaurant.

He handed her the small rectangle package across the table. She unwrapped it, and her smile faltered a little.

She looked up. “Thanks, I really needed this,” Estelle said with forced enthusiasm.

“I know. You’re other one was getting pretty ratty, so I thought you’d like that,” Dayton said and took a sip of his Chardonnay.

“It was very thoughtful.”

She felt guilty as disappointment nagged at her. She would have preferred some sexy lingerie or jewelry, but Dayton was a practical guy. It was a very thoughtful gift. While all her colleagues had long switched to digital planners, she preferred the old-school feel of an actual book with real paper and pen in hand. The fact that he noticed and validated her by getting her that gift was charming.

He waited expectantly for his gift, and Estelle flashed him a mysterious smile.

“So, do I get my present?” Dayton asked.

“Not here. It’s not appropriate for public.”

Dayton’s eyebrows rose in surprise. “Ah, okay, it’s that kind of gift. Well, awesome. I guess I can wait then.”

Estelle sipped at her ale. They took their time enjoying the meal and each other’s company. They talked about work and politics. Dayton was definitely on the more liberal side like herself, and so their conversations flowed smoothly from one conversation to the next.

When they got home, she told Dayton to wait on the couch. She went to the bedroom and retrieved the box. She’d gone to a department store and bought a large decorative box. She wrapped ribbon around it so that all he had to do was untie the bow and remove the lid.

When she brought the box in, and he saw that it was quite large, his eyes widened with shock. “Hey, I only got you a day planner. I feel bad now.”

“Don’t jump to conclusions. You’ll see why I had to use a bigger box when you open it.”

She set the box on the coffee table in front of him. Then she snuggled up next to him on the couch and tucked her feet under her butt. He looked at her and grinned, then began to untie the ribbon on the box. He slowly lifted the lid and set it aside. He unfolded the tissue paper, then paused as he stared at the box’s contents.

“Huh,” was all he said after a moment.

“Well… Wanna have some fun?” Estelle said seductively, then reached for the crop. “I thought it might be fun to try a little ‘50 Shades of Sexy’ stuff in the bedroom.”

“Oh, the book!” he said as if the gift totally made sense now. “Yeah, the girls at work have been buzzing about it. I didn’t think you were into that sort of thing.”

“Well, I don’t know. Maybe I am, and maybe I’m not. But we won’t know unless we try.”

She swatted playfully at his thigh, and he flinched slightly.

“Um, yeah, okay.” He chuckled nervously.

Estelle suddenly felt embarrassed. She thought he’d like a little spice in the bedroom. Didn’t all men like this sort of thing, so long as it involved sex? “You don’t want to experiment a little?” She probed.

“No, it’s— I mean, yes, I’d like to experiment. I’ve just never done anything like this, so I wouldn’t know where to start.” He scrubbed at the back of his neck.

Estelle stood up and faced him. She unbuttoned the snap on her short denim skirt, slid the zipper down, and let it fall to the floor, revealing her black lacy thong, and her black heels. She turned around and bent over, making her ass prominently framed in Dayton’s personal space. “You start here, baby.”

He smiled sheepishly, picked up the crop, and stood. He fidgeted with it trying to figure out how best to grip it. Then he swatted it down against her butt. The crop landed a little low on her thigh instead of her butt cheek.

“A little higher, babe.”

He huffed out a sigh, then tried again. This time it connected right square in the center of her left butt cheek.

“Ahhh,” Estelle exhaled. “Do it again.”

He walked to the other side of her and switched the crop to his other hand. This time the crop landed a little too high.

“Um, sorry,” he mumbled. “Let me try again.”

He cracked it again, and that time it was hit the spot. “Oooh, that felt good,” Estelle arched her back and thrust her butt out further so Dayton could spank her again. But when he didn’t spank her, she turned around and saw his face was bright red.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah, yeah, let’s go in the bedroom. Maybe it would be better in there.”

“Ooh, yes, let’s go in the bedroom.”

Estelle picked up the box of toys. She put it on the floor beside the bed and turned to Dayton. She began to loosen his tie and unbutton his shirt. He moved his mouth slowly against hers as they undressed each other. They were soon naked. Dayton made a move to enter her, and she stopped him.

“Hey, let’s try to make it last all night. What’d’ ya say?” She drew the words out seductively.

“Uh, okay.”

She got the mask and slipped it on over his eyes. She took the other toys and put them on the edge of the bed. Their bed conveniently had a filigree wrought iron backboard, so she picked up the handcuffs, straddled him across his hips, and lifted his arms to the backboard. She fastened one cuff and then started on the other when he interrupted her.

“You have the key to these, right?” He laughed nervously.

“Dayton, they’re not real. Look, there’s a safety release here.” She pushed the little latch, and the cuff instantly released.

“Oh, okay. Just checking.”

She began to fasten his wrists to the bed again.

Then she took the feather tickler. She ran the tickler down his arm along the exposed underside of his skin. When she got to his armpit, he began to squirm and laugh.

“Uh, this is supposed to turn me on?” he said.

Estelle let out a breath of exasperation.

“I’m sorry. I’m supposed to be taking this seriously. You can try again.”

She bit her lip to keep from sighing again. She put down the tickler and picked up the crop. She began to run it along his skin. She started at his chest then worked her way down to his flaccid manhood. She gently gave the top of his thigh a swat. He didn’t respond. Then she swatted the other thigh, and he flinched a little. She watched his penis for clues. It remained completely limp.

She blew out a raspberry of frustration and removed his blindfold. “It’s not doing it for you, is it?”

He grimaced. He at least had the good grace to look remorseful as he shook his head, no.

“Well, maybe it would turn you on if you tie me up. Maybe you could spank me?” She suggested.

“Sure,” he said.

So they switched spots. Estelle let him cuff her to the bed. She didn’t take a sitting position as Dayton had been in. She faced the backboard, and he cuffed her to the top edge. This way, she could extend her bottom, and he could use the crop and the paddle on her bum.

He tried the crop, and it was just as awkward as the living room attempt. She suggested the paddle. He seemed to do nominally better with that, as he spanked her alternating between each cheek with eight smart swats. She felt herself getting wet and was surprised at how much she was enjoying the stinging sensation.

It was short-lived pleasure as Dayton said, “Is that good? Can we have sex now?”

She used her teeth to hit the lever on the cuffs before Dayton could even assist. She was feeling frustrated but suppressed it. “Did that turn you on, in the least bit?” she asked.

“Um…” He rubbed the back of his neck again.

“So, that would be a no?”

“Not really,” he said sheepishly. “I’m sorry, it’s just not my thing, I guess. I kinda like it the old fashion way. Some things are just better in their traditional form – ya know? Like the way you prefer the book planners over the new-fangled digital ones?”

She nodded. “Yeah, I understand.”

He closed the distance between them and began to kiss her. He pulled back to say, “I love you. It was fun to try something new, though.”

“I love you too. Thanks for giving it a try.”

He kissed her again, and they had sex. She had her orgasm riding him cowboy style, then he topped her and took his pleasure the good ole’ fashion, missionary-style way.

Valentine’s Day 2016 – Los Angeles, California

Valentine’s Day fell on a Sunday that year. They didn’t want to be out late, because they both had an early morning at work the following day, so they decided they’d just have a quiet night in.

Dayton and Estelle had different tastes when it came to media, but the one thing they both enjoyed was nostalgic television and movies. Mainly from the 80s and 90s. While Estelle liked terrible horror flicks and campy comedy, Dayton preferred action and drama movies. He was the bigger fan of the once-popular television show Friends, and they’d worked their way up to season four, for probably the sixth time. They owned the entire series on DVD.

They were sitting on the couch, with half-empty cartons of Thai food takeout strewn about the coffee table, watching the end of season four in Friends, where Ross gets married to Emily. Dayton had his arm casually slumped around Estelle. She was snuggled against his side.

He turned to her suddenly and said, “Estelle, we should probably get married.” His tone denoted the same casualness as when he suggested Thai takeout for dinner earlier that evening.

Estelle jarred and slid away from him so she could meet his gaze. She didn’t try to hide the bewilderment on her face. His face fell when he saw hers. “I’m sorry, that was bad. It’s just I’ve been thinking. It’s the next logical step, right? I mean, we’re happy, and we’ve been together for nearly seven years now.”

Estelle stood up abruptly. An emotion, so profoundly opposite to the contended feeling she’d harbored only seconds ago, coursed through her like caffeine straight through the veins. “I—” She paced a few times, scrubbed at her face, and headed for the bedroom. “I need to go for a run.”

She slammed the door closed – locking it so Dayton would not follow. She could hear him knocking and coaxing her to come out and talk, but she ignored him. She quickly changed into some jogging pants and a t-shirt, laced up her trainers, and stormed out of the room. She was out the front door before Dayton could stop her.

She heard him calling to her, but she shoved her earbuds into her ears and cranked up her jogging music on her iPod Mini as she bee-lined to the beach path.

It was half a mile just to get to the path, and by the time she’d gotten there, she had to stop and stretch. Her calf had cramped from not doing a proper warm-up. She took the time to sit on a park bench and stretch out her legs properly. Her breathing was erratic, and she knew it wasn’t from the sprint out her front door.

Over the past few months, she’d been feeling a certain something she couldn’t quite place. However, right at that moment, she understood one thing. Whatever it was that had been brewing, had suddenly exploded like a pressure cooker. She felt a wave of guilt course through her that she’d left Dayton so utterly speechless on their stoop. She had to get out of there fast, or she was going to explode in an irrational fit of expletives, and somehow that didn’t seem right. Dayton had done nothing to deserve that.

She rubbed with agitation at her calf as if it were the culprit of her sour mood. She finally worked out the cramps, stretched properly, then got back on the path at a clipped pace.

She ran, and ran, and ran.

She usually did 3-5 miles for a good solid workout, but today when she looked at the mile marker and did a bit of calculating for her route, she realized she’d likely gone about 12 today. She was exhausted, so she turned off the path and headed down to the shoreline. The sun was setting now, painting the sky in a brilliant lovers’ mural of soft pink, peach, and lavender hues. It was very romantic, and then all of a sudden, it hit her.

Romance.

Passion.

Excitement.

When did these things go away?

Then another thought crept in like an oozing stain across her mind. It caused her stomach to bottom out. Had there ever been a time when her and Dayton had felt these emotions in their relationship?

She sunk down to the sand, pulled her knees up to her chest, and buried her face in her hands as tears began to fall.

She realized with utter clarity, and awful regret, that she’d spent the last seven years of her life in a city she didn’t particularly care for all that much, in a job that held no joy, and a relationship that was devoid of passion and romance.

She sat for a long time; well after twilight and the street lamps began to flicker on. She stood up and brushed the sand from her pants. She felt sick to her stomach, realizing what she had to do.

She made the long walk home, feeling like a prisoner going to their execution as she thought about the difficult talk that would ensue with Dayton.

When she walked in, he rushed to her. “Oh my God, Estelle, I’m so sorry. I’m such an utter, fucking, cad. I didn’t mean to upset you. Of course, I understand why. You were so right to storm out like that. I’m going to make it up to you. I totally promise I’m going to take you to our favorite restaurant and get down on one knee—”

Estelle held a hand up to stop his ramblings. She felt tears forming in her eyes. Damn it, if Dayton wasn’t a good guy in so many ways. This wasn’t going to be easy.

She made her way to the couch and slumped down. He sat close and tried to pull her into a hug. At first, she resisted, then relented. She had a good long cry, and for once, he had the sense not to say anything that was ill-timed.

She cried for the time lost, and the pain this breakup was going to cause them. She knew it had to be done, and it was better to address it now. Rip the band-aid off quickly, before she lost her nerve.

“Dayton, we need to talk.”

“We don’t have to get married, Estelle,” he tried. “We can wait—”

She held up a silencing hand again. “No, it’s not what you think. We shouldn’t get married at all.” Her tone was firm. She placed her hand gently on his cheek. Mournful regret etched across her face, and he scanned her expression. Suddenly he realized what she meant.

He stood up. “Estelle, seriously? I know that it was really callous of me to just drop a bomb on you like that, but we’re good together. You want to break up?” He breathed with disbelief. “But I love you.”

“I love you too, babe.” Tears were streaming down her face again. “But, I know we’re not in love. I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but I know it’s for the best – we should split up.”

It must have been the finality in her tone that caused him to jolt back – his expression pained, looked as though she’d just slapped him. Then all at once, his eyes narrowed, and anger flitted across his face.

“No, this is ridiculous. I— I can’t even—” He bolted up, and paced back and forth a few times. He brusquely ran his fingers through his hair. Then he turned to her. “I’m— I’m going out.” He snatched up his phone, grabbed his keys off the little key keeper by the door, and left.

Dayton didn’t come back for three days. He texted Estelle that he was safe, and staying at a hotel, but he needed some time to think. His absence during those three days only served to solidify further that they needed to break up. She felt how cloying their relationship had become. It was the feeling she couldn’t quite identify. The sheer boredom, and incompatibility, was smothering her.

When he came back, he seemed resigned to the inevitable, and it broke Estelle’s heart to see him so defeated. He deserved better. Someone more compatible than she was. Didn’t she deserve that too?

They sat and talked long into the night. Many tears were shed, but ultimately they came to the hard realization that they probably should have separated long ago. On the last day, when they moved out, Dayton kissed her softly on the forehead, and with tears in his eyes said, “I hope you find happiness, Estelle. You deserve all the best life has to offer.”

“You do too. Keep in touch?”

“Yeah.”

They hugged a long time, broke from the hug, and that was that.

At first, they did not keep in touch.

It was nearly two years before they spoke to each other again.

She felt she could be completely frank with him. So she shared everything. He was ecstatic that she had found happiness in the kink community, and the arms of a woman. He wasn’t surprised, nor was he judgmental.

She was happy to hear he’d given up work in advertising. He’d met his soon be (asexual) wife, not long after his breakup with Estelle. With the help of his fiance he came to have a life epiphany. He realized he was probably mostly asexual with only an occasional need for release, which he could take care of through personal means. They had started a franchised firm selling a popular name brand life insurance, and it was doing well. He said he was happier than he’d ever been, and was eternally grateful to Estelle for putting the much needed, boot in his ass, to get him on his way in life.

They kept in contact after that and remained very good friends for years to come.
